Sheryl
When Sheryl was just eight, her mother tragically passed away. She was then left with her grandmother, who was unemployed and HIV positive. In ill health, Sheryl’s grandmother also had to care for her intellectually disabled daughter and was unable to provide Sheryl with proper support. However, since her acceptance into Horizon, Sheryl has made great social and educational strides, where her favorite activity is to read. She hopes to become an accountant one day and help support her younger brother.
